To H.E.R.O Patrons:

In these unprecedented times of fear, uncertainty, and global public health crises, it is unfortunate that the social injustices in our society are being highlighted through acts of police brutality and disregard for basic human rights. H.E.R.O stands in solidarity with our volunteers and patrons who have expressed their disdain and are demanding changes in systems that oppress and devalue Black lives. H.E.R.O remains committed to its core mission of bringing health and educational relief to disenfranchised communities. We see the eradication of systemic racism as embodied within our mission and of paramount importance in the emergence of healthier communities.

We stand for Equality.
We stand for empowerment of communities of color.
We stand against police brutality and killing of black people at the hands of law enforcement.
We stand against social injustice and the unabashed indifference of the criminal justice system in handling such violations.

H.E.R.O stands with the Black Lives Matter movement as it seeks to address the fundamental inequalities within our society. To this end, we affirm our commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as empowerment of communities of color through high – quality healthcare and educational support services.

Sincerely,

John E. Mitchell M.D.

President
