Sharon J. Ackah, JD, Board Member
Sharon Ackah has been a member of H.E.R.O. since 2012, serving as the organization’s legal counsel. She is a practicing attorney who also serves on the Soldiers Medical Evaluation Board, where she represents soldiers undergoing medical disability evaluation and possible separation from military duty. Sharon received her Doctor of Laws degree from George Washington University and completed the Master of Public Health program at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She is a member of the American Bar Association and of the District of Columbia, New Jersey, Maryland and United States Supreme Court bars. In addition to her educational and professional success, Sharon has always pursued her passion for helping others and serving the community, which led to her joining the H.E.R.O. She is also a board member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) interagency coordinating council on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and Senior Advisor for the Family Readiness Group, 54th Quartermaster Company.
