What we accomplished in the 2023 Mission
We entered into the 2023 with a clear vision in mind to assist underperforming students’ of various grade levels. Throughout the mission, we accomplished many great things. We were able to be flexible and adapt to the students’ learning needs. We used various strategies, tools and enriched learning activities to keep them fully engaged. Students who experienced significant reading challenges were given one to one instruction on a daily basis. On a weekly basis, conferences were held and progress reports were administered to parents to keep them informed. A large percentage of our students’ were able to show continuous progress within the 4-week program. This was measured using our weekly quizzes, daily concepts taught and post-assessment scores. The data showed that some of the students have made tremendous improvements, met grade level or were approaching proficiency. At the end of the program, the students’ & teachers were able to give their input on the program. A graduation ceremony was done in order to acknowledge the hard work of the students’. They were able to receive bookbag filled with school supplies for their upcoming school year. They were also provided with daily meals and were exposed to a small group lessons to provide personalized instructions. Local teachers were impressed with our methods and styles of teaching; some even requested that we provide them with a copy of the curriculum and teaching aids. We will use their feedback in order to implement strategies and newer methods to best support the future mission.
