H.E.R.O – New York
As a rapidly expanding volunteer organization, our need for various forms of clerical, administrative, and logistical support continues to grow. As such, we are currently accepting applications for an open Administrative Assistant position to provide office support services to the organization. The successful applicant will be required to volunteer 10 – 15 hours per week performing clerical and administrative tasks to support Board and organization activities.
Ideally, the candidate selected for this position would be available to spend at least part of that time in our Brooklyn office during regular business hours, although some evening and weekend time may be additionally requested. In the event that the successful applicant is already a member of HERO with some experience in our internal operations, s/he may also be asked to undertake some additional projects relevant to his/her expertise.
We are actively recruiting volunteers to join us in the following roles:
Accountant Specialized in Non-Profit Sector: Volunteer accountant responsible for managing financial records, preparing statements, and overseeing grant financial management to ensure compliance and efficient resource allocation within a non-profit organization
Media Marketing | Social Media Coordinator: Volunteer coordinator tasked with developing and implementing media marketing strategies, managing social media platforms, and analyzing performance metrics to promote the organization’s mission and engage with diverse audiences effectively
Grants Writer: Volunteer writer responsible for researching grant opportunities, crafting compelling proposals and reports, and maintaining relationships with funders to secure funding and support for the organization’s programs and initiatives
Recruitment Coordinator: Volunteer to assist in the recruitment process, collaborating with the Board and organizational committees to identify, evaluate, and onboard volunteers. Responsibilities include screening applications, coordinating interviews, and implementing strategies for volunteer retention. Ideal candidates possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting our organization’s mission
Fundraising Coordinator: Volunteer to assist in planning and executing events, managing budgets, securing sponsorships, and promoting initiatives to drive donations. Key responsibilities include event logistics, vendor management, financial reporting, and cultivating relationships with sponsors and donors. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and adept at networking and negotiation.
